Hello again!
It has been awhile. Believe it or not I lost my little notes on which sign in names and which passwords I needed for my various blogs and sites.
Yep, I have a red face. But I found what I needed by trial and error and here I am.

Two of you ( very loyal) mentioned in private emails that you had checked my blog and found I hadn't posted in a very long time and were concerned. Chalk it up to a long early vacation in May. ( for those who did not follow that yahoo site for that one, well, let me know and I will hook you up). There was fun and trauma. We even had our brakes go out on our new ( used) motorhome on the way home and luckily were on the off ramp when it happened.

So what, you may ask, have I been doing. I have been writing, my friends. writing and working at he bookstore and trying to ignore the growing problem of the house and yard. In the case of the yard the growing problem is growing weeds and overgrown trees and shrubs.

As for writing; I have been working on several manuscripts and completed another one for Blaze. When reading aloud to a friend ( my final way of being sure there are no errors as they are more apparent when reading aloud) I discoved several, and also addressed questions of clarity she brough up. Now, it is ready to send.

I was very fortunate in having a pitch to an agent whom I am very interested in at the recent miniconference of my local RWA chapter last Saturday. ( 17th). She asked for pages from each of my most recent works and I hope she finds things there that she can work with.

I need an agent to do the selling and business end of writing so I can write stories, which is what I am good at. I have several new ones that I have outlined while working on the current ones.
Currently I Have finished: Original Cyn- a spicy romantic comedy for Blaze;
Heat Waves- another romantic comedy origially titled Malice in Wonderland that I am expanding to full length. I had written it that way origianlly, but when A CONTEST came up for a series length I shorthened it and did win a chance to have it read by an editor, then another editor graciously asked me to send it to her. It was too complex for each of them, but I hope to find a home for it as I re-read it a couple weeks ago and I love the story.;
The manuscript for Harlequin Spice- Lucky Lady is about 5/8's complete. I say that because it was finished when I pitched it in Reno, but I also had written it long ago in long hand and was asked to expand the length at the same time as I typed it.; Sexual Healing is a full length erotic gothic romance. Very dark and sensual and a story that has haunted me for several years. When complete it has been requested by RedSage.;
There are two others but I am trying to prioritize. As I mentioned to her, I have so many stories in me that I am like a ship full of cargo. I need a captain to steer me into port and make sure I reach the right destinations.

So, dear friends, I will try to be more timely and keep you posted. I may even share a line or two from these books. Don't think I have abandoned the children's stories. I have just shelved them to concentrate on stories that can be packaged in a way to create a more focused carreer.

You may post questions here ( I okay them first) and those who have my private email can contact me there. I am deleteing all forwards no matter how cute or inspirational, but thank you for thinking of me.
regards

Ever wonder how a "best seller" is determined? You should.
Here is a link to a guy who knows.

There are many terms in writing and publishing that every author should know. This is one.

A quiet place

I have mentioned before the need for quiet to write. One of my friends challeneged that saying she had known me to write in a busy Burger King. Well, it is a different kind of quiet.

I need to not be interrupted by people needing answers to even simple questions. That is what I consider quiet. Unlike a lot of writers, I do not listen to much music while I write. There is a major exception. If my characters like music, I find out what they like and weave it through the story. I find that listening to it later brings back specific scenes just like I was there witnessing the action.

Today I found that helpful as I was going back to a story I had to put away for nearly two months. I had almost forgotten what music the two main characters listened to. Then I was sorting through CD's to put them away and put one on to listen to and suddenly felt like I was back in the room where I had left off the action.

I am thinking about putting a little note in the front of my books giving a suggested listening list so the reader can have a multilayered sensory experience.

What do you think?

A year of resolution

My only resolution this year is to make each day the best I can make it.

I often have limitations caused by health or circumstances. I can't change that, but I can change how I handle it.

Today is one of those days. Not feeling up to par and won't go into the details other than to say that Immodium might be a good stock to invest in.

Had planned to go for a nice ride in the Colorado mountains today with my honey. Now, really do not think that would be wise. We shall see about later.

I had a dream. I add it here as an entry in my dream journal.

dream date 09 01 02

dream; three religious groups came together in

one place yet in separate spaces. one Jewish;

one dressed in purple with stones; and Cyn and me. I had

made some kind of a round moist cocoanut

cake for the ceremony. It was about palm sized. Each sect was doing a

separate ceremony at the same time in shallow wings of the room and

limiting the noise and infringement on the others.

I had my drum but felt it would be too intrusive so

began gently tapping the cake which I could hold

in my hand. Cyn was late but sat with me and

began to feel the rhythm. We sat singing with only a low

tone that we made to the motion of the drum stick.

After while it felt like we were through and we sat

quietly. The purple group were still meditating

with their candles and stones. The Jewish group

was using tiny bells and had reached a point

where they to were done... almost. One woman from that wing

appeared to have joined Cyn and me without our

realizing it and asked me where the story was. I

shrugged. she said there had to be a story. I

said so tell one. She said she could but it had to

be about a Marine. I gestured fine, not relating to

the story until moments later when she said it

could be about Scrabble.

I began telling a story about a Marine and his girl

who always played scrabble before he went back to the base.

She was angry and didn't want to play

a game. He said it was more than a game it was

a commitment. The first word she made was v o

l e. he looked at it and asked why not l o v e

where she could get extra points for her v. She

said she didn't want to commit further.

I woke up during the story and realized that I had

been the one telling it even after the woman had

taken the reigns.

I also saw the deeper meaning of the story and of

the elements of the dream.

submitted respectfully. krh

I have already done some introspection this. I love the layers of dreams.

Back to Basics

As autumn approaches I am more and more aware of how cluttered so many aspects of my life have become. My resolution is to begin small and work up.
Today I cleaned out two of my email boxes. Not hard, you think. Not so. I had over a hundred messages on each that had not been sorted and/or deleted. and these were only the ones I had kept along with probably 10x that many that were sorted and/or deleted.

So, one little corner ( or korner) of my world is under control. I have about five blogs that I created and then abandoned. I plan to do these next and this was the first. So hurray for me.
